Our Kawaii Japanese puzzle eraser reached a new high in 2011 with the
introduction of the Koala bear Japanese erasers. The breakthrough is in the structure of an eraser, the eyes and
nose are not inserted as before, but built inside the head(skull), the head itself is 3-piece of erasers with 2 pieces
of skins wrap over the internal head/skull. This is followed by the cat eraser in May 2011, the eyes and nose are
built into the internal head part. Technically this is challenging and costly, because the parts must be precision made
to fit perfectly, just like hi-tech smartphones or airplane parts, everything must be built to the same level of advanced
technical skills.

No.38003 Kokeshi doll Japanese erasers in 6 colors. Iwako
Japan. June 2011.Kokeshi (こけし, kokeshi?), are Japanese dolls, originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a
simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a floral design painted
in red, black, and sometimes yellow. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs. The origin and naming of kokeshi is unclear, with historical ateji
kanji spellings including 小芥子, 木牌子, 木形子, 木芥子, 木削子, etc. The hiragana spelling こけし was agreed
on at the All-Japan Kokeshi Exhibition (全国こけし大会) in Naruko Onsen, Japan in August 1939.
